My mother just bought a new Mac, and it has an airport for a modem. She wants to connect to the internet, and I know she needs some extra equipment, but I know nothing about macs, so I don't know what she actually needs. What is the difference between a router and a wireless modem? Any recommendations on brands? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I have an old dell laptop with a USB wireless adapter and an ethernet adapter. I use the wireless to connect to the internet and the ethernet to connect to a LAN that isn't connected to the internet. I need both on at the same time but when i have both on I cant connect to the internet. The computer tries to connect to the internet (firefox btw) using the ethernet instead of the wireless and i don't know how to tell it what to use for different programs. It does work when i disable the ethernet connection btw. Any idea?

Thanks

I have internet explorer 7 and have had it since the week it came out (I think). The thing is now when I go on websites like myspace, google, and youtube, It always displays websites like I copied the individual cells/parts (like the top advertisement, the site name/logo) into Microsoft word in a random order, but usually just going straight up and down. The backgrounds aren't showing up. for example, myspace has a blue curved line on one of its pages. now that line shows up as a sharp turquoiseish block. A couple of logos and site pictures show up as icons that have nothing but a small thing of white on the top left with a red X in the area. Some links don't work either. Did something change my settings or is it just a website problem, even though that's unlikely to happen to 3 major ones at the same time. If it's a browser problem, how can I fix it? I have norton antivirus, a yahoo toolbar, google web accelerator, and Mcafee siteadvisor up and running. Thanks in advance for the help.

I changed a setting on my windows 2000 computer to only allow access to adding or removing programs when you have the administrater's password. Essentially my computer is locked, is there any way to unlock my computer without the administraters password? Also i tried system restore but that tool also needs access, which needs the password. thank you anything helps
