How bad is this for my connection 12.o Kbps ? and what can be done to help ?

hi, i would do what alot of what you guys are telling. but we live in the woods and can not get it. it sucks

Oh, you poor dear! Even the cheap DSL is about 50 X faster in downloads, and viewing websites!
DSL costs about the same as AOL dial up. If you are within about 3 km of a station that provides the signals, you can have DSL!
Plus, I sped up all my connections by running a 50X faster OS, called http://pclinuxos.com which is Linux, and is FREE but, you need a higher speed connection to get it.
Almost anyone who has a high speed connection would like to get you the CDrom. We give them away at our club meetings, http://lugww.counter.li.org lists 700 clubs, worldwide.
http://Ubuntu.org will mail the Ubuntu CDrom to you for FREE!
The thing about them is that Microsoft runs Linux on all of its 45,000 websites, as Linux is virus proof and upto 50X faster!
MSN.com, Microsoft.com, Hotmail.com and the Linux Labs, routers/Aruba Firewalls at Redmond Campus all run Linux.
83% of all businesses, and corporations, run Linux! If your computer can run that efficiently, you will be pleased by the speed increase that is FREE!

why do u say bad ? atleast u hav a connection. well actually man is never satisfied...he always needs more n more. By this i can state that 12 KB is to low but satisfactory if u just surf the net. Else if u download music n movie, so u gotta hav more speed.

If you can afford it try to get dsl, depending on where you live. Go to google and type in dsl service for your state. You might be surprised on what you will find.
