the box said it's all i need to use the internet but i think i need a modem too! my old modem has only a usb and a dsl port

Ouch. Time to hit Ebay, if your old modem only had USB on the LAN side.... Fortunately lots of people sell DSL modems for not too much. Try to use the same brand as your old one, just get a model that has Ethernet output (so if your old modem was a Westell, get another one)

Bt voyager adsl router is very easy to install if you have the BT cd that came with it.
Put the cd in the drive and run it it tell and shows you exactly what to do and when to do it. then it completes the installation and puts you on line If you have two computers you can use the ethernet connection for the main one and the usb for the other

connect the cat5 cable from the modem to the router
