i have 3 computers in my house i am willing to hook all up to the internet at the same time. a wireless router i would not like to use. i was thinking of using a server or a hub but i do not know the difference between them. but.... what is the process i should use to hook all 3 computers up to the internet at same time.

hello,
i just hooked up my dlink router.
i first connected it with the cable. to configure the router.
and it was great.
then i enabled the wireless on the router.
then wireless on my laptop.
wireless works.

but i want to use the lan cable. so i plug it in. and disconnect the wireless.
and nothing happens.
IE says page cannot be found.

my network -> local area connection status says
limited or no connectivity. you might not be able to access the internet ...this problem occured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer.

is there any way of using the lan connection? and not wireless?

There are already three computers on my network. Neither of my roommates remember the password either. I want to add a laptop that I just got from my work. Is it possible to change the password from my computer that is already in the network?
