Using an ethernet crossover cable, connect the LAN ports of the two computers.

Start on the Windows XP machine, and use the Network Setup Wizard. It will walk you through the steps of defining your network. It will also create a network setup file on diskette or a USB drive that you can bring to the Windows ME machine.

Start>Control Panel>System>Computer Name tab>Network ID button> Next> Configure your settings set by the network and you are done!
