well since i work for telewest i can answer this the best, what modem do u have either motrolo or webstar??
if motrolo do u have 4 lights and pc activity light flashing?
and if webstar is the cable light on solid and the pc light flashing if no to any of these then there is something possible wrong with the connection and suggest u call blueyonder.
on either 150 if u have a telewest line or 0845 142 4422
if u have the lights on, turn everything off.. and turn on in this way modem wait for all lights, router, pc
also make sure the router is on dhcp or dynamic ip addressing.

the problem you have is the same as we have with NTL. the cable modem is not compatible with a router. what u need is a Wireless access point or wireless switch for wireless communication or a standard switch for wired networking. I assume that you want to stream broadband to several computers at once. Remember a router also has a DSL modem built in and is thee for it is no good for cable broadband
Hope this helps
