Hi everyone.
I've got a laptop Turion with mobile technology. The wireless network (from control panel) says Broadcom 802.11b/gWLAN.
I currently have NTL at home with cable modem broadband.
I want to have the freedom of moving around the house and still be able to connect to internet.
My questions are:
1. Can I just buy a wireless router or do I need something else?
2. I saw plenty of routers now coming with 54 or 108 mbps. Is any of them gonna be ok?
3. Will any router work with the NTL cable modem?
4. I also have USB hub where I connect all my peripherals(printer, mouse, etc..). Could I be able to connect the hub to the router and still use the wireless mouse or print if I'm not in the same room?
Many thanks to anyone who answers.

I have a mac server for a small department in my company storing our files. It's a little over 5 years old now. Just wondering when a good time to upgrade would be. I usually like to replace old equiptment before it breaks down.

My company upgraded to Microsoft Office 2003 and integrated a document app into it. Since then, I've been unable to connect remotely through my company's firewall via a Belkin router over a cable connection. The program is now too "server intensive" and the exchange of information packets (I'm told) is overwhelming the system and freezing me out of my internet connection. Two sources have suggested that I "slow down" the router speed to allow a smoother exchange, which will allow me access at home. As a working mom of 3 kids, I reeaally need to be able to connect at home sometimes. Thank you.

As a cost-cutting measure for smaller locations, you have decided to use Windows Server 2003 as a router rather than buying hardware routers. This decision has just been announced to the rest of the IT Department. Some of your colleagues certifications from hardware router vendor are quite upset and have complained to your supervisor.

Write a report justifying your decision. As part of the report, include a list of routing services provided with Windows Server 2003 and where they can be used in the University.

One of your newly configured sites is having a problem with IP address conflicts. Some of the addresses being leased by the DHCP servers are already configured on servers, printers, and workstations. The DHCP servers are using 192.168.1.10 through 192.168.1.19. The printers are using 192.168.1.20 through 192.168.1.29
