It takes a while to figure out. Mine isn't MIMO as that is newer, but my current one was fun. The good news is, if you need help, good luck with Belkin. "All our lines are busy, please try later...." brrrrr. Anyway. What I did is first share something safe and try and connect without any protections and then experiment adding things back and adding keys etc. I use WPA which is 63 random letters.
You don't have to use the Wizards, here is how I do it.
ROUTER:
Have the SID showing, I've found that it isn't very well hidden even when on, so I have it always available as it makes it easier.
Put a 63 bit key in WPA settings. Copy this key into a text file and stick on a USB stick.
Turn off unique network card.
Leave the default location set as is. It may need tweaking but I found doing this gave me a connection that would disconnect occasionally. Mine is left on the default frequency. 11 I think is my default - not looked. Took ages to work out other frequencies can suffer interference and was irritating for a while as network would drop connection occasionally because I had used 7 instead.
PC:
Install any network driver needed to see the Belkin receiver.
I have PCMCIA, USB and built-in card (better than the Belkin one receives over longer distance even though not on MIMO).
Once you have the card active, you should see a network appear - you have SID off in the router.
Ignore this...
In the belkin drivers, tell it to use the Windows connection stuff with Belkin drivers. I find I a) get better signal in Windows ones for some reason and b) is easier/looks nicer.
Connect through Windows ones... If hidden from Windows stuff the option to use the Windows one or greyed, look at the Belkin driver options.
Double-click the found network in Windows connection tool and it will ask for a WPA key.
Insert USB stick and cut and paste twice and connect.
Now you should connect ok.
ROUTER:
Now connected you will be able to look at the network cards connected. Your network will have been added automatically as we told it not to be specific. Now you can enable this so it is specific and it will not add any more unless you enter the specific card number or set it back to automatic. This is great because even if someone has your WPA key they cannot get in because the card is disallowed. :) Also useful to share with flatmates etc but not ALL flatmates in the block that aren't paying a contribution.
Tip: Everest from Lavalys.com can tell you your Network Card ID if not printed on it. Useful for manual settings.
If sharing folders and stuff you may need to run Internet Connection wizard and Network setup wizards in XP after.
