I have 2 SATA hard drives. I had the first one for about a year then added the second. Whats strange is that the second drive is not being seen by BIOS. The only way I could get windows to see it was to install windows onto the 2nd drive.
I have a ASUS M2N32 sli-deluxe MOBO which has 6 sata ports labelled 1 - 6. The first drive is connected to port 1. I tried connecting the 2nd drive to ports 2 and 3 and it is still not recognised by BIOS. I want to use both drives independantly for different things (one drive for programs, one for movies and music) Does this mean I dont need to bother with RAID? I also have an unknown device in my device manager under Other devices, PCI device. Are these related? Could this be what has been slowing my computer?

I am trying to cookie cut someones face out of a picture and then fade the picture into a background of clouds. The problems I am running into are: when I cut out the face it is a littlw choppy (squared off) and then I do not know how to fade the picture of the person into the background picture so it all looks smooth together. Any advice?

Ok i was tryin to gain access to one of the accounts by reinstalling the system-(didn't finish installion)-but it wont let me back into the desktop until i finish reinstalling the drive how do i do a system restore from the command prompt!! does anyone know what im talking about? please help I need to get everything normal agian!! b4 my dad finds out!! i feel so stupid if anyone will help then i will be forever grateful-- i messed up..

I have a G-4 tower with the Mirror face. My friend gave me a copy of an update for the computer, and I can't update it. I thought I had to press "C" when I start the computer and it will install the DVD, but it doesn't. Any suggestions?

I have a 6 workstation group that is seeking firewall protection. Internet access through broadband. Wondering what my best alternatives are? Should I go internal or external?

Is setting up an external firewall difficult? What do I need to know about the installation? ANY info would be found most helpful. I do not have experience with this, but am the "computer guy" by default.

Also - If you want to provide links, or information on specific equiptment that would be spectacular.

We are just seeking additional protection, so nothing too brut is needed, I do not think.

I was using my computer and all of a sudden it turned off. So then why i truned it on again it made the little starting up noise and the word toshiba showed up on the screen.. but after that nothing else shows on the screen. The blue light that says the computer is on is on but nothing shows up on the screen and it doesnt make any more sounds.. My computer is a toshiba laptop by the way..What can i do to fix this???

In case it matters I have a dell inspiron e1505. I plan on ordering a new hard drive from the dell website. I don't really know much about computers, and know nothing about the internal workings of one. I highly doubt it, but would I be able to put the hard drive in myself? If so, how? Apparently on 22nd of July there will be a big drop on alot of CPU's?
Im thinking of getting an AMD am2 athlon 64 x2 3800+ 2x2.0ghz

At the moment i can get it for around £40, will it drop to less in a few weeks time (22nd) or not?
And what CPU's will drop the most and will be the best value one (AMD or Intel.)

my laptop is nearing 2 years old now, and i just noticed a small pixel sized black spot on my lcd screen. It has a dark haze around it too. things like this bother the heck out of me. was wondering if these are easily fixed???
