can please someone help me with what I should look for in a laptop screen in relation to the resolution, should it be high DPI or low DPI how will you determind that and would the screen size matter, suh as small or big?

My kids all want to be on the net at the same time and i am sick of cords running through the house. I am dumb.... If i buy a wireless router do I have to change my broadband plan from ADSL to wireless? Do i have to buy a new modem or does the router come with it? I am in Australia - any suggestions on the best to buy.THNKS

Hi,
I ust got a new mac laptop and am trying to hook it up to my Zoom wireless router at home. It is WPA encrypted with a passphrase, and the wireless internet is working perfectly on other laptops (which are windows instead of mac). My laptop finds the network, asks for the passphrase (which I have double and triple checked, it is correct!), tries to connect, but then always says there is an error...

This is my first mac and I don't know much about it, is there some sort of systems settings that I might need to play with? I have connected to wireless internet on this laptop before (In america) but it doesn't seem to want to work in England.

Any ideas?

i have managed to set my second screen up so i can have that just for the singers. my logo is on the tv monitor, so i know that part is working, but when i play a song, it comes up on my laptop but won't apear on my second screen.

I tried upgrading to Windows Vista and halfway through the process my computer rebooted itself and landed on an empty black screen and remained idle for hours without anything happenning. I already tried doing a fresh installation and the same thing happened again time and time again. What could be wrong? (My laptop is Vista ready and already ran the Windows Advisor)

I know that IP addresses are easily obtainable, even if someone uses a supposedly anonymous service such as Yahoo or Hotmail (please correct me if any actually are anonymous). But can an IP addy be used to ping actual location, beyond just city and state? And if someone gets it, can they then target your computer with anything malicious? I'm researching for an article I'm writing on internet safety for kids, so would appreciate sources for any claims, please!

some times when i go into internet explorer it will start and then just freeze and sometimes i have been on it for a short time and it will freeze again,i never had this problem with AOL and and when i have to go of i click the top right hand corner and a warning comes up to end now or cancell if i end now i loose any data that has not been saved and to send a error report

i heard with having windows vista, your not be able to run games or programs that you ran with windows XP before...
