I tried upgrading to Windows Vista and halfway through the process my computer rebooted itself and landed on an empty black screen and remained idle for hours without anything happenning. I already tried doing a fresh installation and the same thing happened again time and time again. What could be wrong? (My laptop is Vista ready and already ran the Windows Advisor)

OMG please think about this before you do this. i have two dells one with Vista (brand new got it in april this year) and one with out (got it in 2005). the 2005 comp has been used for games, storing pictures and yes even looking at adult sites... the new dell has only been used to attend classes and type out documents. the old computer is still going strong, where the brand new Vista ready comp freezes ofr hours is not capible of utilizing yahoo messenger with out stickign the keyboard, and is insainly frustrating! please please don't jump inot Vista unless you need to. i am unhappy with mine and dell has done little to help me fix the problem!!! good luck!
