i have laptop .its model is Qosmio G30.it has 2 HDD that 1 of them dosen't work and when it starts up this message emerge?
"raid_1 is degraded"
please answer it quiqly .

I have 2 PC's 1 connected by wire and other wirelessly connected to a netgear router. I have done the usual stuff like stopped broadcasting SSID, enabled WEP (this is a pre-WPA router) and changed the IP addresses from the default (192.168.whatever) to something else.

I have 2 ports forwarded for bittorrent purposes but otherwise nothing else.

I don't have a s/w firewall installed (I do have AVIRA antivirus on both PC's) because I have been told that
a) a router is a h/w firewall
b) Sygate/zonealarm etc get in the way of bit torrents.

Do I have a cause for concern?

I do have plans to upgrade my router to get a WPA enabled one.

I have a 2 year old laptop (compaq presario) and I put it into hibernate. When I came back later to start the computer it began booting then half way through just restarted. It just keeps going in this cycle of rebooting and I can not get windows to boot! I tried safe mode, last known config and normal boot with the same problem. Please can you help! THANKS!

I have Windows Vista and using Internet Explorer 7, when i tried to go to a website, i just received the error Stack Overflow at line 0, what does that mean? And everytime i go back to that website, i just kept received that error, i figured out it may be with the JavaScript and i downloaded Java, but didn't work, try to contact my computer manafacturer, but they couldn't do anything, Please you guys any of you out there can give me a solution to this problem, i would really appreciate that !

i have 1.5 GB hrddisk on my pentium 2 system. i would like to upgrade the win 98 into win xp.however the existing hard disc coud not provide the required space for win xp.i try to add an xp installed disk to it but it could not work.

It is a Brother MFC-215C. It will print from my computer, fax quite happily and copy from the printer. However to scan it opens the Brother Control Centre2, which is not working - I cannot print/photocopy/scan etc from it. So effectively I cant scan, cos when you push the "scan" button on the printer, and then say "scan to email" or another option it opens Control Centre2. I rang the people who sold it to me and they told me to delete and reinstall the printer software, which I did - no change. I then took the machine into them, and after 2 weeks they returned it saying there was no problem at all with the machine.....help, what do I do?

I know it's a basic question, but need a straight answer! if you do this, does the laptop need to be open (I think that when you close it it switches off automatically, do most laptops allow one to disable this feature? I'd like to just put the laptop in a drawer and not be bothered by having 2 displays showing the same thing. Also, is there any loss of computing speed if I do this? Thanks!
