i just bought a ibook with airport card in it. i cant seem to connect to internet wireless. i tried with wire and it works fine but i bought this to use as wireless but am having problems. when i try to connect, it will not find any routers at all. how do i set up my airport card to c my wireless router. right now i have a d-link dir N 625 router. let me know ...thanx in adv

here are the specs:

Genuine Windows ® Vista Home Premium Edition
Anti-glare, widescreen 15.4 inch display (1280x800)
256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 8600M GT
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz
80GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)

I think the graphics card has turbocache so Im wondering how much main memory it will use up and whether this will negatively affect performance since it has Vista.
Any suggestions to make the game run as smoothly as possible are appreciated.

fine, brought it home, hooked everything up again and when they turned it on it would not boot up. A message said "please insert operating disk and press enter."
That's all it will ever do. I thought I would reformat but looked for that particular disk and could not find it. The manual said a copy should be made of the system when the computer is first started. This could then be used to get it going when and if something like this comes up.
I suppose the manufacturer should have a disk like this?? Is there any other way to get it going?
All the computers I've purchased had reformatting disks with them.

I have tried everything! I am pretty computer savy and I am well aware that I am the computer administrator, but the error keeps telling me that I do not meet this "requirement." I know very little about Vista in particular, but I am very familiar with all other Windows operating systems, and the program runs fine on Windows XP. Please tell me if you have any ideas about what might be causing this problem.

I bought a Samsung Optical Disc Drive DVD-Writer from Micro Center today and it's not reading my Flight Simulator X disc and it says it reads DVD-Rom discs and all the cords in the modem are connected. Samsung's technical support is the worst i've ever seen and it doesn't give any instructions on how to use it so I don't know even if its loaded and I tried registering the drive and it said there's an Unknown Server Error and this doesn't make any sense and for now on the bottom of my pc screen it says "You has not registered" which also doesn't make any sense. So if you know what's going on with this dvd-drive please help me.

I "was" about to build a computer, but today I was cheching the prices and the Intel core 2 quad Q6600 shot up from $480 to $659??!!! That is a major price change. I just downloaded limewire
and the connection is only staying at one bar

My desktop is basically going to be used by my 1rst grader, if needed, and my husband. I need to know if I need to set up a wireless network. And how do I do it? Do I need a wireless PC card for my desktop or only for my laptop. I have a Microtek Scanmaker 4800 that uses a 12V 1.25A power adaptor, which did not come with the scanner when I purchased it used. I've been using dismatching power adaptors but they always get both the scanner and the power adaptor hot if I leave it for too long. Apparently 12V 1.25A model is discontinued and everywhere it says out of stock. Is there any available adaptor with other specs that will work with the scanner? Thanks.

Runnings Windows XP home editions. Trying to do a total restore on the hard drive. All my data has been backed up on a memory stick and trying to do a destructive restore. I had made the restore CD's when I purchased the computer. It goes thru the process until it gets to disk 5 and then pops up an error message "preload\data9.inp" unable to load then it gives an option to retry or abort. I have done both and tried to start all over again but I get the same problem. Any suggestions?

ok here is my diliemma. there are several wireless routers in my vacinity that all have the same gateway address which is 192.168.1.1
so my computer doesn't know which one to go on to.
how do i log into my personal wireless router when there are several with the same IP address with different weps.
there has to be a way. please help.
