My computer freezes when i try to open programmes. I have tried virus scans and system resore, with no luck. I was 24% into defragmenting and my pc restarted itself, came up with my desktop and said it had recovered from a serious error. I tried to open a programme and the screen went blank and it said "no operating system" but it seemed to right itself when i pressed ctrl alt del. Pease help.

Hello,

Normally in my MS Excel when I use the arrow keys on my keyboard, the program moves the cursor type thing between cells - i.e I can use the arrow keys on my keyboard to navigate between cells. However, for some reason (maybe i pressed a weird button combination or something) now when i press the arrow keys it does not move the cursor but rather moves the part of the spreadsheet I am looking at. So if cell A4 was previously selected and cells A1 to F20 were on screen and i press the right arrow a couple of times, cell A4 is still selected, but now the screen shows D1 to K20. Any ideas how to fix this?

Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S4 - Full x16 speed sli support and its only $220 AUD

i want to know if gigabyte make good motherboards as the asus equivalent to this is another 100 bucks and as im 16 would not like to spend so much.

but i would like to buy a gigabyte geforce 8500gt and possibly a 2nd one 6 months after that. would that work well?

I have this old scare on my left arm. I have not had any trouble with it till recently when I noticed something. Anytime I use the laptop, I have this severe pain in my arm. I suspected radiation but when I went to the public library and used theirs, I did not feel the pain. I mentioned it to a friend and he explained that in the public library the radiation is distributed in a wider space so I cannot feel anything. I stopped using the laptop for a while and the pain stopped. I have resumed using it and as I am typing now, the pain is unbearable. What do I do?
I have read many postings saying that radiation from laptop is minimal, but could this be true? Help before I am killed by my obsession with computers. Thanks a lot.

I have complied a firewall in visual basic and it uses certain dlls.
I have created a separate exe file that will isolate and register the dlls. So, at this stage, the user is required to run the dll installer prior to the main firewall installation.

What I am asking is that how can I include the dll installer within the firewall installer package? Is there any way out? Or shall I have to use it the way it is used now?

N.B. It's a Visual Basic 6.0 project.

I've built myself a database to control my very small business. On one of the tables, I have all my purchases. On another, I have all my sales.
When I go into sales, I select an item from my 'purchases' table via drop down that I've sold. HOWEVER, what I can't figure out is how to set things up so that once I've sold an item, how do I stop it appearing at a later date on my pick list on the sales sheet i.e. I've already sold it so I don't want to be able to 'sell' it again.

I guess that I've got to find some way that, once it's picked, a marker gets added to the purchased table that says 'no longer available', and the sales sheet disregards all items with such a marker.

But I can't work it out. Without going in an manually updating the Purchases table every time. There must be a smarter way.

Answers in relatively plain english please - I'm self taught (recipe for disaster!) and Access makes my head hurt!

I now am using a NVIDIA Geforce FX 5200 that came with my Dell 4600.
I bought a ATI Radeon 9250 Graphics Card.

Q: How can I make a wireless connection from my "linksys WAG300N" to my "Dream box 500s digital receiver" without using the old-fashioned cable network ?

A: of course you might say that the only way is using a bridge connection , BUT well it work on both my router and my receiver like if there was a cable ?

I don't want to use a cable though because my router is far from the living room I don't want to lose connection because I'm sending and receiving data and sharing encrypted channels.

pls. help because I don't want to buy it and then figure out that it won't work out , might as well bring a long network cable

Ok so a few years ago we got verizon DSL, and we ended up getting the 768kbps or whatever it is around there. How come whenever im downloading from limewire or any website it only goes at about 180kbps?

weird thing though, i was on a wireless laptop that was connecting to this same internet, and when i downloaded from limewire (only songs though) it would finish before it got to its fastest speed, highest was about 480kbps. I know theres no way ill ever get close to even 700kbps, but why not 300 or something, i know im not alone but i just want an explanation. would a new modem help?
