hi butterfly, your windows operating system has lost essential files or has been corrupted. i hope you have your recovery cd.
first, boot the computer and start pressing F-10 till it takes you into your BIOS. nose around there until you find the selection of where to boot your computer from. enable the D: drive, save. then reboot the pc with disk 1 in the cd rom. to start the recovery. it will reload windows at the cost of your files i'm afraid. i hope you back up, or save to disk, your important things. after windows is installed and your all up and running again, remove the cd, reboot the computer, start hitting F-10 again to return to the BIOS, then reset the pc to boot from the hard drive (C:)...remember to save. i hope this helped.

HD damanged or else virus.
Either way, try rebooting in safemode.
Else bring to a computer tech and ask for them to backup your data and fix the comp.
