In my computer I have 3 Hard Drives (all internal) My main hard drive has XP on and is partitioned with Ubuntu on it also. On another Hard drive I have in my computer I have vista on it and that is also partitioned with Mac OSX (so my computer is a Quad-boot if you like) And the third Hard Drive is a 500GB just sitting there storing lots of things and is nearly full.

Anyway one morning, turned on my computer was trying to boot into Vista like normal and it cam eup with an error saying it cannot find the vista Start-up drivers. I though Vista must have a problem and be corrupt, putting in the install DVD should work fine. I tried to boot into Mac and that also would'nt boot. So I booted into XP and clicked on My Computer and it only showed 1 hard drive the one I was using. It previously always showed 3. So in the end 2 of my 3 Hard Drives have stopped working. Im not to bothered about the Vista/Mac one but my 500GB I am, they still both spin but just wont be recognized can anyone help?

When I was taking computer repair like 3 years ago lol I was taught that leaving the computer on all night will cause wear on the fans in the P.C. and leaving the computer on will be the cost of running a light bulb; however, Always cutting the computer off and on will cause the "hot/cold effect" which can cause expansion cards to gradually work there way out and etc...

That being said who has thoughts on turning on and off their computer/s? I know there are pros and cons for both, but I would like to see the opinions of others.

i am currently using internet explorer 7 on a broadband connection and am finding hard to browse between pages as the browsing speed is relatively slow for the internet speed. In microsoft excel, I can get the dd/mm/yyyy converted to show just the month, but I need to change it into the year aswell, so for example 21/01/2007 becomes JAN-07 or and 30/03/2006 becomes MAR-06. Please could someone help me do this?

I accidentally dropped some drops of water near my keyboard and I think some of it may have spilled on the keyboard. It seems to be working fine, but is there any chance that the water could have seeped into the internal components? Is there a chance that it will short out my computer if it did? I'm using a new usb keyboard, if that helps.

My hard drive (C:) is only about 80 GB but I've used it to store mp3.Many programs are installed in this drive also.Therefore, I do not have enough room for using with video editing.

The yahoo mail still does not open. I have lost a lot of business due to that. I tried using the yahoo mail beta and since then the yahoo mail does not work at all. I have tried it on mozilla also but in vain. Please someone help.

I am damn sure I am going to stop using yahoo mail now. I am disgusted and this was not expected from a service provider like yahoo.

I had a virus/spyware that showed on my screen: Your computer is in danger but my Anti-spyware programs deleted it. (i hope).

Please, help me with this alerts. It's opening bad sites all the time! :( I used: Ad-Aware, SuperAntiSpyware, Kaspersky Antivirus, Spybot SD, XoftspySE. It deleted many files, some trojans, but it can't remove this alerts.

i want to overwrite windows xp but ive lost the box with the windows licence number and thats what it asks for is there anywhere on my pc where that number or code is stored its 25 numbers or lettrs it says when i put the dell windows recovery disc in my pc has adware spyware on it and i cant get to a site adwarere just comes up also keeps saying windows has encountered a problem and has to shut down ive tried most things but it comes back im new to pcs so in plain english please thank you tom

I have ubuntu installed on my computer, but there are blue virtical lines on the screen, i beleave this is because the computer settings are wrong, if i am right, ho can it be fixed, if i am wrong, how can this be fixed. i have 2 OS and only Ubuntu displays the blue dotted lines!
