Well if its direct computer to computer, you can use a network Crossover cable. (You will need to assign IP's to each machine in the network adapter -- control panel -->network adapters---> properties -->TCP/IP just manually enter 192.168.1.10 on one and 192.168.1.11 on the other).

If you have a router, just plug them both in! They will be assigned and address and they are connected.

In either case be sure they are both on the same network WORKGROUP and have file and printer sharing enabled..
Easiest is to run the "NETWORK WIZARD".

Thats about it... if they dont show each other in Network Places.. just "search" for the other machine -- you can do that by its name or IP.

Thats all there is to it.

with an ethernet cable if you want to share the internet you will need a crossover cable. either that or buy a router and connect both pcs to the router
