Im using windows xp pro service pack 2 and i installed a new game and its telling me that there is not enough video memory to play it. Is it possible to increase this without harming the computer? If so, how do i do it?

I wiped window with alcohol and ran "clean cartridges" I put in 4 cc as instructed. Cartridge was out of ink for a while. Color cartridge works fine after refill

I have Battlefield 2142 and sometimes when im waiting for a map to load my computer freezes on me. My comp is running bout 36 degrees celsius idle and about 47- 49 load. It only happens when i play this game and this game only. just wondering if its the game or my computer

I'm connected to a router and sharing the internet with 2 other computers. My internet has been really slow lately and its driving me crazy. I have been able to download around 5 - 20 kb/s. I don't know if its so slow because there are too many computers on the network or someone has a virus. I have ran antivirus and spyware programs and don't think there is anything wrong with my computer. What kind of speeds should i normally be seeing with a 5 meg connection?

I checked for viruses and spyware and non came up. Every once in a while my notebook just keeps grinding and there are no programs loading or installing. Is this normal or something is wrong. By the way its a HP notebook so it might be a HP thing.

i have some blanks CDs and i have an old laptop w/o a floppy disk drive

okay so I play this one game and I have been reported to the GM....there is no doubt that soon I will be banned from the server as soon as the GM reads the message from the guys who reported me..... so I already deleted that account....cuz the account sux anyways..

I have another account which is really good, so I dont want to get an IP ban
I want to block my IP if the GM can still somehow track it, then I can still play on that server

Basically we have a desktop pc with the homehub connected to it, two laptops and 2 other desktops which run off the wireless signal. one laptop and both desktops can still connect to the Internet, however one of the laptops stopped earlier on.
I think it was because I uninstalled Norton Antivirus because it was out of date and wouldn't scan anymore, and set up the windows firewall. (Since I restarted tyhe computer, I have only been able to achieve limited connectivity, and so I cannot surf the Internet or use MSN etc..)
When troubleshooting the MSN connection, it says there is a problem with the default gateway (or something along those lines..)
Does anyone know how I could perhaps sort this out?

I've tried restarting the homehub thing but nothing there, nor does turning on and off the wireless on my laptop work. Any help would be excellent thanks!

(I'm currently writing this on the main desktop)

When listening to youtube it is evident that audio engineering is not most video poster's strong point. Levels of volume and dynamic range vary wildly from one video to the next.

I would like to be able to chain a software-based dynamic range compressor into my system audio so that I can normalize and maximize the volume and dynamic range levels of all audio on my windows computer.

I know that windows media 9 has "quiet mode" which will dynamically compress audio levels, but this is for the media player only. I need a dynamic range compressor for system-wide audio, not just audio from my media player.

I have searched for, but cannot find an application that can accomplish this. It seems like a relatively simple, even trivial application to implement - software-based, dynamic range compression is a very mature technology. I cannot see why it would not be implemented for all audio on a system, rather than in an application-specific manner.

Ok, for some reason, I was being really stupid and downloaded a spyware attacker that gave me spyware!!!!!!!!!!! And now there is constantly a little alert on my toolbar that is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point on it, and it says, Security Alert: Spyware found. And whenever I click on the bubble, it takes me to a friggin donload site!!!! Does any1 know how to get rid of this.......

Right. So I have an Acer ScanPrisa 640P, and it's been in the family for about ... 5 years. I have an installation CD for something known as 'MiraScan', which is the 'TWAIN-compliant' driver for the scanner. Anyway, I've installed that, and I've tried to scan in a document, but even though the connections are proper, the computer still doesn't detect the scanner. I've tightened the connections -- and I've noticed that the printer is connected to the scanner, which in turn is connected to the CPU, which I assume is the proper way of doing this. I was wondering why the computer wasn't detecting the scanner, and whether it has anything to do with the fact that my driver is 'out-of-date' (it's compliant with Win 95/98/NT, apparently). If this be the case, why won't Windows detect the scanner, like it normally does? And where can/should I get a new driver? Thanks for all the help! =)

I just bought halo 2 yesterday and its not working because it says i only have 32MB of video memory, but my card is 224MB shared, why wont it work? Does it have to be dedicated? Is there a work-around for this?

I believe that my laptop keeps automatically shutting itself down because it is heating up too quickly. So to prevent this in the future, what is a suitable surface to leave it on (where it won't heat up as easily) ?

I need to make something on Photoshop and save it and open it to work on it. The school MAC is CS2, my PC has photoshop CS, if I use a regular cruzer USB flash drive that has been used on a PC to save the photoshop file, will there be a problem?

If there's a problem, then I will just use the school MAC entirely, can I still save the file on my flash drive?
