I know CD's are an older format but they are still used.....I know they have Super Audio CD's but why can't they make Dual Layer CD's with 2 times 800MB of data?

No....even though CD's and DVD's look and feel the same, they are not the same with regards to formatting. A CD rom has 800 MB of data max because that is the standard they created back in the 80's based on the digital technology then.....DVD's are dual layer because the technology that created DVD's allowed them to also be DUAL Layer.....

It is possible but very few will buy because DVD format is now so cheap.
