Is there any free file compressor/reducer out there? I like to make AIM icons, but when i try and set the icon as mine, it says the file is too big. so, are there any free file reducers? someone help. please?

You can use GIMP to compress or resize your pictures:

It's for free and open source.

Microsoft Paint might be able to reduce the file size. Try shrinking the image in paint. There should be an option under 'edit' to do that sort of thing. It might be worth a try.

Try Irfanview its freeware available from Tucows.
It can handle most picture formats, & allows re-sizing.
