Well sounds like you refilled your cartridges by yourself. Be careful cleaning the print head, they damage easily. If it is left out for a long time, your head may have "caked". Repeat the cleaning process again, let it soak for a while in alcohol. Turn the head facing up and refill the cartridge again, this way you positive prime the head and remove the "air" stuck in the heads. Try printing again.

I don't think HP printers work with REFILLABLE cartridges... I was told when I purchased my new printer to NEVER use anything but original HP cartridges... at first I thought that was just a money making "SCAM" because those cartridges are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE... so I bought some refillable ones at Office Max.. took them home, loaded them CORRECTLY into the printer, tried to print something and totally destroyed the printer...... the refillable cartridges ruined my printer... so now I will not use ANYTHING but HP cartridges in my HP printer... (my BRAND NEW PRINTER by the way)....

The print head has dried out, you will need to start with a new cartridge. Never let a cartridge sit more than 30 days unused or else it will dry out and therefore be unusable.

Don't refill ink cartridges. They will eventually after a period of time fail and damage or destroy your printer, plus void the warranty on your printer. Sounds like the printhead on the ink cartridge has either failed or has been damaged.

Did you remove plastic strip which allows ink to penetrate through contact points before inserting?

You may have bought an old cartridge or it is too old and the ink dried up

try letting the ink contact points set on a damp cloth for an hour, see if that loosens it up. worked for me.
