Hello, I want to purchase the Inspiron 1501 from dell.com but am having trouble deciding which processor I should get. I know a little bit about Intel processors but not much about AMD processors.
So AMD Turion or AMD Ahtlon? Also what's the comparison with the AMD Turion to the Intel's and the Amd Athlon's to the Intels...?

I'm looking for a PCI Express video card that supports Windows Vista and a monitor resolution of 1440x900. I can't find any cards that explicitly say 1440x900, but a few of the cards I've been looking at have bad reviews regarding Vista.

I haven't opened the case yet, but I'm pretty sure I have a 16x slot. As long as I can choose a custom resolution and the card works with Vista, it will be fine. I'm looking for at least 256mb if not 512. Thanks.

So my computer was costumized and we bought it for about $800 about 1 and a half to two years ago. I kind of think that the computer we bought was a rip off, and I kind of think it is because we bought just the CPU without the monitor, keyboards and anyth accessories. While at other stores, it cost about 800 for a whole set and it was looking new (colour black). The man also said that he would give us a deal and upgrade our computer to 512MB we agreed and we paid extra (that's why it summed up to $800 something). Anyways, I went into My Computer and checked the Properties. It is a Windows XP.

It says:
AMD Sempron (tm) Processor 2600 + 1.60 Ghz, 480 MB of RAM.

1) Was the price we bought it for worth it? Were we ripped off? Other better, well known stores sell for a lower price, complete set with 512MB of memory/RAM.

2) How do I check what kind of RAM I would require because I do not know how to check that. I am interested in buying RAM for my customized computer.

I just got a new memory for my computer. After i put it in, my computer keeps randomly restarting. Does anyone know the reason why? Do i need to change something in BIOS? I had 500 mb of memory and got a 1 gb more. Also, i have windows XP if it makes any difference. Thanks for your help

when i want to start the game it said "please insert cd into your drive".But i already mounted the game image into the deamon tool virtual drive. Yes, the game can be installed from the virtual drive,but when i want to start playing the game,it said 'please insert cd'.

Do I really need to know C/C++ before I jump into ASM? I would like to start programming on lower level instead of using higher level languages like C or Java.

I don't know a thing about ASM and where to start. So if you could please give me advice on where you think I should start it would be greatly appreciated.

Also any tips or other things you learned over the years that you think I should know would be appreciated as well.
