I have a need for a hacker that is good, and looking for a challenge to outsmart someone I know who is hacking into my accounts. I will not be using the hacker for any illegal activity, but just to track the person. Who is up for the challenge?

Of course hacking is illegal, but I am looking for someone that will help me track this person. I think I know who it is, but I HAVE to be sure. Doing the firewall deal is okay, but I want to personally deal with this person, but the hacker won't have to. Just someone who can confirm the location.

Firstly, most of the time, when people think they have been hacked, they really haven't.

Technically, a cracker has cracked into your accounts. A cracker is a person who does illegal stuff, and a hacker is someone who plays around with computers.

If yor account is email or something, I suspect they are accessing it through YOUR computer. You need an anti virus scanner AND a firewall. If you just want to be safe, then rreformat your hard drive and install security software. If you want to track them, thats a different story.

If they have planted a backdoor program or some sort of remote keylogger, you can try finding it or you can try to see who is connecting to your computer.
Do the following:
If you are using Windows XP, go to start, run, and type "cmd".
You will get a black screen called command prompt. Now type "netstat -a". It will show all the connections to your computer. Now, copy the whole screen and save it in a file(microsoft paint).

Next thing to do is to know when the cracker connects to your computer. If you somehow know the cracker's msn or instant messenger, then talk to him/her and send a large file. When sending it, do the above step of typing "netstat -a" in command prompt. The different IP address(an IP address is the address of the computer) listed will be the IP of the cracker(probably). If you cannot get their msn, you need another way of getting their IP address. Try looking at your firewall logs or something.

Once you get their IP address, notify the authroities or something, or try tracking down their address.

ps Don't bother tracking them down, just reinstall your OS and everything, get security software, and change all your passwords.

FYI hacking=illegal. Hacking is gaining unauthorized access to another computer. Key word being UNAUTHORIZED access. I agree with the firewall person on high, to find the IP address. But don't go with hacking...there's no such thing as legal hacking unless your the government.

setup a firewall like zone alarm. set it on HIGH status. then look at the attacks. it will give u an ip address. that ip address is most likely the person attacking and remote controlling ur puter.
