I'm looking for a PCI Express video card that supports Windows Vista and a monitor resolution of 1440x900. I can't find any cards that explicitly say 1440x900, but a few of the cards I've been looking at have bad reviews regarding Vista.

I haven't opened the case yet, but I'm pretty sure I have a 16x slot. As long as I can choose a custom resolution and the card works with Vista, it will be fine. I'm looking for at least 256mb if not 512. Thanks.

K as for my budget. Hopefully less than $100 usd but I can go over that if necessary. I definitely don't want the $2800 card I saw on one site.

It looks like you are using a LCD WXGA wide screen monitor.

Any latest video card can handle this resolution.
For Vista, I encourage you to use 8000 series of GeForce Video Card. Because they already support latest technology like DirectX 10, which is only supported by Vista.

8600 GTS has a good performance with affordable price and available with 512 Mb memory. But if you want to get a little extreme, you might try 8800 Ultra, the fastest and latest of the 8000 series.

Firstly you need a budget as the 8800 ultra is $1000 Au....it is the most powerful but a waste of money......

You need to find a card with best value for your money....

Personally I would go for a card with 512 memory....

Try the xfx nvidia bfg. It's a decent card that will play everygame you can throw at it.
