So my computer was costumized and we bought it for about $800 about 1 and a half to two years ago. I kind of think that the computer we bought was a rip off, and I kind of think it is because we bought just the CPU without the monitor, keyboards and anyth accessories. While at other stores, it cost about 800 for a whole set and it was looking new (colour black). The man also said that he would give us a deal and upgrade our computer to 512MB we agreed and we paid extra (that's why it summed up to $800 something). Anyways, I went into My Computer and checked the Properties. It is a Windows XP.

It says:
AMD Sempron (tm) Processor 2600 + 1.60 Ghz, 480 MB of RAM.

1) Was the price we bought it for worth it? Were we ripped off? Other better, well known stores sell for a lower price, complete set with 512MB of memory/RAM.

2) How do I check what kind of RAM I would require because I do not know how to check that. I am interested in buying RAM for my customized computer.

This may sound a little off, but please do not talk too complex as I may not understand it. I am only 14 years old after all...

1 1/2 years ago i could have built that for about 420 bucks. Now thats worth about 200bucks. You got ripped bud. Theres a website that scans your computer to tell you what ram you need....Go to bestbuy.com and go to memory section they scan your computer i belive.

edit. RAM's gunna run you about 80 bucks for another 512mb...you need to buy a completely different computer. That processer is the same speed and amount of ram that came in a 500 dollar computer in 2001.

You need to stay away from the Dell HP Acer etc, Although these may be quite good when you first get them home as you have found out with your e510 they become obsolite pretty much as soon as you get them home. You need to go by yourself PcUser magazine or something similar and have a look in there. They show up many you would not have heard of. They are much cheaper and you will get a lot more bang for your dollar, Bloody hell if you send me 1000 I'll put together a Quad Core with 2 gb ram 1 tb hard drive 512mb graphics card win 64 bit with upgrade to win7 and a 22 inch LCd, but hey by all means go with the dell or hp
