Q: How can I make a wireless connection from my "linksys WAG300N" to my "Dream box 500s digital receiver" without using the old-fashioned cable network ?

A: of course you might say that the only way is using a bridge connection , BUT well it work on both my router and my receiver like if there was a cable ?

I don't want to use a cable though because my router is far from the living room I don't want to lose connection because I'm sending and receiving data and sharing encrypted channels.

pls. help because I don't want to buy it and then figure out that it won't work out , might as well bring a long network cable

You would need to purchase a wireless bridge to connect to the dreambox. And yes it will work just like a wired connection, as long as you can get a steady good signal at the distance between the router and dreambox. You will not get a 300mb/s signal though because I am unaware of any 802.11n wireless bridges in production yet, so you would have to purchase a 802.11g bridge, that will give you a max of 54Mb/s transfer speeds.
