This had better be worth it. I build custom pc's strickly for gaming. so here is a list of items you might want to look for. These were top of the line as of 3 months ago.
1/ motherboard. asrock aliveXfire-eSATA2
2/cpu. amd am-2X64 processor at 3000 mhz windsor model.
3/ memory I am running 2 gig of gskill 800 mhz at 6400DDRII (runs very smooth)
4/ video. This motherboard is crossfire ready. I am running the uber edition which has 2 video cards and this thing smokes.the uber edition is ATI 1950 Xtreme edition video.
5/sound. Sound blaster is the only way to go and the one I use is extreme gamer fatality you can hear pin drops with this sound card.
6/this has on board ethernet at 1 gig which is more than enough for your on-line gaming.
7/hard drive. I use the maxtor 300 gig sata 2 hard drive. It is fast and very reliable
8/cd rom. I recomend a good dvd burner rewriter for this. HP or sony or philips. stay away from lite-on for this as the playback is not nearly as good.
9/ I run xp pro 64 ( I play alot of first person shooters and so far no problems. Do not load vista yet and if and when you do get the full version of vista 64 ultimate. ) I would stay away from this for right now though. Too many bugs still.
10/ Power supply. I use the demon on mine and love it.580 watts and runs cool.
11/ case. I use a clear case with led fans for cooling ( one in the front one in the back and 2 on the sides. ) you can set these up so that one blows in and one blows out .

Well I don't think I left anything out but this machine will do any and everything that youo can think of for the next 6 moths to a year. You can also upgrade your memory up to 8 gigs on this unit as well.

Visionman Gaming PC - Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700, 4GB DDR2-800, Dual Gigabit LAN, Media Reader, 2x150GB Raptors(RAID 0), 500GB SATA II, Dual 20X DVDRWs w/LS, NVIDIA 8800GTX 768MB, Vista Ultimate @ $4,300.00 its a good low priced home gaming class pc, or you can go to michael Dells * ALIENWARE Computers and spend $6,000.00 and upwards of $22,000.00 for a similar machine!
* there are 36 types and levels of gaming pcs avail at the links below, it all depends on how deep your pockets are
I use a 1 gig vid card that costs over $1,900.00 alone, not to mention the several thousands it cost for the rest of my beast, including dual quad core 3.0 gig V8 intel zeon cpu chips, but not everyone has $30,000.00+ laying around to spend on occasional game play... its all about the Benjamins~ You can find new decent gamers for low as $399.00
or as high as you willing/ able to pay. In 6 yrs wow tech is so drastically different than the old p 2 400 mhz avail back then- prices also have drastically increased, just my pc nitrogen cooling system was over $900.00 just to keep it from overheating.. daddy of all gaming pcs? nope not mine, just another fast custom built machine... what one can afford, or justify as it were, spending on a gaming pc is what the daddy for them is, my neighbor has one hes sunk over $55,000.00 into @ wholesale parts prices. another friend spent $600.00 on an incredibly nice cybertron gamer deal.I actually bought the Visionman gaming pc mentioned above for my kid , needless to say, there were no complaints about performance with any game you can throw at it, I saw only smiles. I did add a 6 terrabyte external drive for storage and doubled the memory but other than that? its pretty much same as it was bought! It is a great little system, enjoy !

Ya, if your super uber rich get something from voodoopc.com, or get a dell xps, or alienware, or falcon northwest. those are the 4 big gaming pc makers but dont expect anything good on those sites for under 1500$. If you know what your doing with building computers you can go to newegg.com and build your own. if you dont know jack about pcs just read up on it or find someone that does know alot.
