as per earlier question, some of uou reccomended that i use a pop upo blocker, i do have a pop up blocker on permanently all the time but the adverts keep popping up.

I keep getting advertisments poping up all the time when i use my internet explorer, in my icon tray at the bottom of the screen there is an invisable icon. these seem to be tracking cookies, (even though i have adequate internet security). How can i stop these cookies from accessing my computer because it is very annoying when you are in the middle of something and then all of a sudden the writing goes very very tiny and the advert comes up on the top of what you are doing.

i keep getting an error message load when i try to use msn.

GAIM came as part of my download of portable apps suite.

and i havent downloaded or messed around with anything other than how GAIM came on that.

can some one please tell me step by step how to get msn working? (using a hotmail.co.uk account)

I have an HP xw4300 Workstation with 2 Pentium 3.2 GHz processors and 2 MB of RAM. Since the day this computer came out of the box (about 11 months ago), it is sometimes very loud. It doesn't sound like the fan; actually, it sounds like that grindy noise a hard drive can make. I can't figure out why it does it sometimes; there doesn't seem to be a correlation between what I am doing and the noise. It's not hot and it's not slow. I've tried cleaning out the whole insides with compressed air. I thought it was just that computer until someone else got the same one and hers is quiet! Any ideas?

Well I got Safari and I love it and it looks better and loads sites faster than other browsers. But a few issues are pissing be off. I find myself having to use IE for things that Safari for some reason can't do. Like when I go to CNN.com and try to watch a news clip, because they use windows media player to play their clips... It wont let me watch them, it shows like a hella old wmp version and just sits there so I have to use IE for stuff like that. And like if a site has a picture a lot of the time it will not display it... there will only be a blue box with a question mark. And its annoying. And for some reason when I use my yahoo fantasy baseball team I have the drag and drop lineup thing and it will not let me use it. And t will not edit the display settings on my Windows Live Mail (beta) acount either, the options botton is just not there! But is on IE. And I can't use Beta Yahoo mail or anything... what causes this?

I have 2 laptops @ home right now: 1 Mac and 1 PC.
when i have my router set to WPA-PSK my PC laptop connects fine but my MAC always disconnects and reconnects over and over again. When i change the setting to WEP-Open my mac works fine and My PC always disconnects and reconnects over and over again. What is the problem and how can i fix it so both computers work fine?

What should a user look for in a graphics card?

I've personally only looked for The cheapest ones with the best memory ( I've been looking for 512mb ones). Although you often see 256mb ones costing alot more than 512mb ones etc.

So what should you actually look for? I know compatibility is an issue but you either look for AGP ones or PCI-E ones.

And is DirectX 10 becoming a concern for people, is it the 256mb ones which cost more the ones which have DirectX 10 compatibility.
My main three questions are:
1. Whats the difference between 256mb and 512mb memory cards?
2. Will a 256mb card play almost every game there is, and if so how long will it be until games come out that exceed this limit. Or is it nothing to do with the mb.
3. Should everyone buying a graphics card now, who is expecting to keep in for a few years, make sure they buy a direct x 10 card, and is it a must.

basically, my pc crashed i restarted it and it came to the screen saying "windows....blah blah blah....startup in normal, safe, safe with console, go back to last known good settings etc" so basically i had no idea what the problem was and choose startup as normal.....and for some reason it restarts itself...so i choose all the options to see if any of them work, but none of them do. It just keeps restarting each time and going back to that menu of options and i cant find anyway past this menu, i think iv tried everything...so any ideas on what to do?

I'm looking to get a Laptop to run WoW when I go to college and while I'm sure on the CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo 1.73Ghz-2.0GHz; haven't decided exactly yet) and the Ram 2GB, I'm having some trouble finding a computer with a good graphics card to run it smoothly.
