I have a very small hard drive and want to put an Operating System on it, but I just realized the Windows OS's require a lot of space just to install. Any suggestions? Or does anyone happen to have an old version of Linux which has small requirements? Thanks!

I ran Slackware 10.1 on a 15 gig drive a couple of years ago with no problems when it came to space. All I needed it for was for a cross compiler but I also used it as a normal desktop just for kicks.

I'm sure you someone will come up with a Linux solution to this question as you can adjust a distro to be less bloated to fit your needs and still have some fair usability.

DOS, BeOS, there's a bunch of them. I had DOS 3.0 running on a 20 meg hard drive before.

Go to distrowatch.com and find one. There are lots of good ones, like Xubuntu.
