I was at the apple store some times this week and realized that I could not double touch an application with the touchpad to pull and drag.

I also I could not double touch the touchpad to maximize or minimize an application. What else I can't do with a Mac?

Back in the days of 16K ram, the experts said it would require 256 megs or ram for them to make artificial intelligence; apple came out with a model that had 1 meg for $10K, and 256 megs seemed far off in the future. So we have gigs of ram, but no artificial intelligence. Is this another case of the experts, at least the ones running their mouth, not knowing what the hell they are talking about?

ok...uh my friend has an old Compaq deskpro with win2k
here are the problems
:cant install games/programs
:cant use windows media player
:cant download anything
:cant play videos
:certain internet links wont work
:takes 8-10 minutes to start up-Then another 7 minutes for icons to load
:takes 5-20 minutes for internet explorer (program) to load
:cant login to MSN until internet explorer program is going
:yahoo messenger just doesn't open at all
:flash drives/webcam/mouse..anything that requires USB doesn't work

and thats all
all the rest that I know is it at least a few years old.
and reformatting made it worse

I cant find out how much RAM or CPU type because dxdiag just doesn't work nor does any RUN commands.
just wondering if anyone else has had these problems or has an answer other than get a new PC ,because they're poor lol

Until recently I was able to get a signal from my video card. But after a recent shutdown, I can't get a signal from my video card. I bought a new video cable but that didn't work. There are two DVI-I ports on my video card, which is an ATI Radeon x1900 XT. So far I can't get a signal from either port. Any ideas or suggestions on what I should do??

Hi i have a macbook 1.83 ghz 512 ram and cd/burner dvd player (in other words, the first version of the white macbook). I wanted to burn some pictures onto a cd and suddenly the cd started spinning so fast it made a sound like a car going at 120mph.. Suddenly it shutdown and when i restarted it, a folder with a question mark showed up on the screen.. Obviously i think that the system brokje down.. but i inserted the OSX installation disks and the installation thing came up but NO DRIVE to install it to shows up.. u think my HD broke down?
I have the protection plan...
However, the cd always makes that noise..u think its a computer problem or a drive problem and all im gonna get is like a repair of both drives? im really pissed

my question's how can i do with microsoft word these things:
a) A VERY capital letter at the begining of text....it's not the normal capital letter of couse.
b) a smal (1) above the end of a word in the test and when the mouse's close to it ...it shows a meaning or some details....

I bought a new computer and am not satisfied with the speed, I want to take RAM out of my old computer ( I think it had a virus ), and put it into my new one, I don't need to know if they're compatible yet but i need to know if there could be a virus inside the RAM, The old one was very slow so maybe the virus was eating up RAM.

My comp is slow. I want to fix it. THe comp is a good dell and maybe a year and half old.

I look at the processes that are runing and i see there are alot of them open twice. Why is this?

Svchost.exe is open like five times.
USRMLKA.exe is open twice.

Why are they like this? Any one know how to figure out the ones u need and dont need? I have tryed to google them all.

I have two different monitors one is HP, and the other is a widescreen westinghouse.

I use the widescreen, because its newer, but I guess cheaper.

But earlier when I was on it, I noticed that words and stuff and like a shadow to them and it was kind of fuzzy so I went to see if maybe the settings got messed up and when I went to properties, settings.
A message pops up and says.

Invalid Display Settings:
The current selected graphics driver can not be used. It was written for a previous version of Windows, and is no longer compatible with this version of Windows.

The system has been started using the default VGA driver.

Please contact your hardware manufacturer to get an upgraded driver, or select one of the Microsoft provided drivers.

When I went to that and tried to change the settings it shut off, when i turned it back on, it would stay on for about 5 seconds then shut off again.
I have a ATI Radeon Series 9200 graphics card.
I just got it like 2 months ago.

My friend sent me an e-mail, and there's this flower symbol. I'm pretty sure it's an alt code, but when I copy it here, it comes out as "{". And there's another one, but it comes out as "|". How do I do this? Why doesn't it show up here?
