Right-click the taskbar and click "Properties"
click tab "start" menu
click "customize"
click "Clear"

You would right click the task bar and choose properties. Click on the start menu tab and then click "customize" button. You would then go the Advanced tab and uncheck "favourites" menu. You might also want to chose the "dont display this item" under my documents.

Follow these steps:
1. click start botton
2. select control panel
3. select Taskbar and Start Menu Properties
4. select Start Menu option in this dialog box
5. click Customize
6. click Advanced on top of this box
7. go down to where you have Recent documents and
8. select Clear List.
and you've got it right.
