if the problem is with Javascript[tm] then u cant do anything to solve it using Java[tm] .
If the problem is with same page only its problem with the website. but, if all pages from internet is shown so, then it may be your browser problem .In that case you have to reinstall ur browser or switch to better one .

It sounds like a recursive call in an external javascript file.
I would need to have the url of the website in order to tell you more information.
I have also had this happen when behaviors are called from stylesheets. These behaviors are written in javascript and attach to multiple events fired by the browser. If written incorrectly, the behavior functions can attach to events and cause the events themselves.

Well th stack overflow error occurs when the java application fails to run a script...however downloading java plugins is always not a resolution coz the registry on the computer it self might be preventing the application from being exexcuted...so run a scan on the registry..

if this error comes in the same website only, then it probably is the problem with that website. downloading java is certainly not the solution because it is a framework for something totally different.
if you cannot browse other websites as well then you need to reinstall internet explorer.
by the way, have you tried mozilla firefox?

Its likely a javascript error with the website, its not your problem.
Java is not JavaScript - it just shares a similar name, it won't help you with this issue. That said, its helpful to have Java installed on your computer, no need to uninstall it
You can turn of scripting errors -
Just turn off the error reporting in IE7, or you will drive yourself crazy. Tools, Internet Options, the Advanced tab, check "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable script debugging (Other)," and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error."
