you should really buy a new harddisk,it doesn't cost so much.
Even if you could install XP,you can't do too many things with 100 MB,or how many space you would remain with

You should be able to upgrade Win98 SE to Win XP Home. Are you trying to upgrade to Win XP Pro ? This isn't supported. The only way around this is to first upgrade 98 SE to Win 2000 and then upgrade to Pro. The best solution if you want both Win 98 and Win XP might be to get something like System Commander. Then you can duplicate the Win 98 partition and upgrade one of the two partitions.

" i try to add an xp installed disk to it but it could not work.
". what you need to know from the statemenyt above is that when you install an Operating system (Win 98, 2000, ME, XP, etc) on your computer, your Computer hardwares must be compatible to that OS, so for the installation to complete succesfully, the hardwares must meet some specifications. and you can't take a hard disk wich does have an OS installed on it and think it will work on another system, so what you need to do is, install that hard disk and insert a bootable cd in the cd drive, and boot from it(cd drive), when it start installing it will pickup the windows folder and tell you that there is a windows folder that exist, from there you repair it by chosing R, then your problem will be solved, but the speed is going to be very slow. Hope this helps

dude !
you got a real problem there
first uypgrade your Harddisk ..1.5gb is just too small for Xp
infact windows folder takes atleast 1gb and program files takes atleast 500mb leaving the pc no space to breath add up atleast even 40 gb won't cost much
next thing to do is to upgrade your pc from pentium 2 to 4
Xp on pentium 2 is like using a horse to pull a 7 ton trailer
this would cost u much more hence what u can do for now is to buy new hdd....later when u get the capacity to buy a new pc then buy (dont try to upgrade it, coz it will cost u more )

You can't without replacing the hard drive. Even though it is 1.5, it really isn't that much. The computer uses some hard drive space BEFORE the op sys is installed for unmovable files which is part of the formatting process.

Contact microsoft. I hope you meant that you had 1.5 gigs
left on a larger harddrive! You might be able to compress
some of your files and work on them one at a time to provide more space. Microsoft has questions and answers, and a phone number you can call to have them walk you through
the process.

XP probably would overtax your current system. Have you thought about purchasing new or used computer? Walmart has a really nice COMPAQ tower for about $350. Your monitor should hook up to it. You can put it in layaway for 2 months.Hope this helps.

Not at all!
The 1.5 GB HDD, P-II wont dont anything with Windows-XP
The real usage of Windows-XP lies in its Video usage capabilities. You may atleast need 5 GB HDD.
Go higher man!

If your HDD is really only 1.5 GB you should consider upgrading your whole system. My "My Music" folder is 4.8 GB by itself. Not much you can do with a 1.5 GB HDD
