Can someone tell me what I am missing or doing wrong? I am moving into a new place. I was told it is connected for cable internet. I connected the cable into my laptop but am not getting any signal. Do I need a cable modem or something?

I have a MacBook, and there is oily residue all over the screen. Every time I wipe it with my microfiber cloth, it just spreads it around or makes it worse. I've even tried using water and running alcohol. Any ideas on how to remove this oily residue?

How do I become invisible (no one can see you but you can and you remain still being online)? I have AIM 6.0 and I have tried closing the little "eye" next to my screen name and it didn't work because I asked all of my friends if they could still see me online.

I am trying desperately to scale down my minimal fixed budget and trying to find the cheapest way to get computer connection without any phone. So if you have a cell phone and a puter at home, How does that work, I guess the cheapest and maybe only way is clearwire ? I know I can get Qwest for $55 a month without phone service but I think that cost is bogus.

my computer screen is completely yellow. at first it would be yellow and then other times i turn the monitor on it's fine. but now it is just completely yellow? do i need a new monitor and is the lcd the best to get? thanks

Everytime when I sign out of myspace, it keeps saying "ieexplorer.exe-Application Error
The instruction at "0x7e1f9af3" referenced memory at (some numbers again)The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program"

Can someone please help me how I could get rid of this pop-up from the IE? This always comes out whenever I sign out of myspace and when I close the browser. What should I do? Before this happened, I went to some spam site by accident and it probably got installed something but I'm not really sure..Can anyone help me?

i built a new gaming pc i have a P4 3.01ghz processor 512mb of ram 120gb hard drive a asylum insane 3D graphics card 256mb made by Nvidia GeForce its a great card but why cant i play all my games some games cut me off when the start up some just wont play and others completly cut the pc of a reboots it whats wrong what can i do to fix it please thanks

Okay I have a 5g 30gig ipod, it's worked fine since april til two weeks ago, when my computer didn't recognize my ipod, and the ipod's screen was frozen on "do not disconnect"
Well, I finally got it to recognize my Ipod, but all my songs were erased? Then my itunes (the latest download) kept telling me to Restore my ipod, I'd restore it, and then it would do it again, so no matter how many times I restore it, itunes keeps telling me it's in recovery mode.
I'm so dead without my ipod, I really need it to work :( Is there anything I can possibly do?

Tech support is no help. My linksys is telling me I'm connected at 54 Mbps, but pages are taking so long to load... I might as well have dial-up. We have 5 computers and 4 are wireless and the problem started today. Have reset and restarted everything, shut off 4 of 5 of them and tried only one. All my settings seem ok. I'm running a WEP security enabled connection. Even the wired desktop is doing it, it is wired through the router. It's a WRT54G v.3 Linksys. Can I do anything???

This happened to me before and I chose Last Known Settings That Worked. Now it doesn't work worth a diddley-poop. I go past the black screen, and then the Windows load bar freezes. This has happened the last three attempts to start it up. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks, your answers are very much appreciated!

I bought a Netgear router the day after Christmas. It had a 1 year warranty. It quit working after 6 months. Now they want me to give them my credit card number to even talk to me. I went to the store where I bought it and they tried to help me. Netgear wants to replace their defective router with a reconditioned one, assuming it's a manufacturer defect. And they want me to pay for shipping to send it to them to look at it. They don't even have a local authorized repair place. Why should I have to accept a second hand router when it was a new one that I bought? I expected to have it last at least the full year it was warranteed for--not 6 months and get it replaced with a used one. What do you think?
