there is a black line running aside my monitor screen whats happened? i don't understand ive tried to go to control panel and take it off but it just wont go away. Please help!

it might be the moniter it self not the computer

I actually dropped my laptop and as a result I have few lines accross the screen that look like a "river" accross the screen, but I believe is because it got bursted with the impact. I dont know what to do and I would like, if possible, change the screen or replace the screen on my laptop.

Bring up the OSD menu and see if the line runs through that. If it does then you have a dead column/row driver and need to get the monitor replaced.

Pixel dropouts and a vertical or horizontal line is a sure sign it is time to visit a computer store and buy a new monitor........

This is an LCD matrix failure.

hmm.. maybe you can do a system restore just try to remember the last time it was working and restore it to that point if that does not work then your monitor is faulty

it might be a problem just of the monitor, maybe its too old...but that's just me!
