I want to save a website to my laptop so I can view it offline for research as I can't get online at home, is that possible to do without being an IT genius?

when i go to bed i put my pc on stand by then when i get up i have to wait for everything to boot back up it dosnt take ages but i still have to wait i know they say pateince is a virtu but ive not got any so can i leave my pc on and just let the screensaver kick in or will my tower overheat or somthing as i couldnt live without my pc (only kidding) just couldnt afford another thanks!

my norton xpires in 2 days so i decided to uninstall it before but i can't remove it from my laptop!! it came with my pc and i don't want to renew it . how can i get rid of it? P.S. i downloaded spybot and avast. would that be enough protection? of course i have win.defender but i can't see myself renewing norton.PLZ HELP!!!

I have Windows XP OS. installed Office 2003, but recently when i try to open Word,Excel it's popping me a error, saying that "Can't access.The Document may be read only or encrypted"..

The wonder is i can open & create new files, but i can't open the saved files.

I tried reinstalling the total Office, but still facing the same problem.

Any solutions for this rear problem..? Thanks in advance

i have tried to check the orkut site through google, yahoo and msn but failed to get through, i keep getting a message as "Request forbidden". what could be the reason for this as i was able to go to the site all this while except for the last 1 week.

My old computer came with a moniter and it had Windows Xp. The moniter was too dark but we found a thing in the settings that was gamma something and we could make the screen brighter. Well, our old computer broke so we got a new one just last week and it has vista. I can't seem to find the thing in the settings to help me make the screen brighter. Any ideas as to where it would be? or mabye another way to fix it. the moniter settings (with the buttons on the moniter) are turned up as bright as they could be.

I have 4gigs of RAM, plus another 512meg on my video card. Vista can read 3.65gigs. I NEVER see RAM usage posted at over 50%. Wouldn't the unit run faster if it used more RAM and stayed away from the page file?

If there installed CCTV cameras on site in a pc & there are four pc on the site, how can we modify cctv pc as a server pc & another pc as a LAN pc because I wish to operate the CCTV cameras on client end. I feel like I've just wasted half my life, or several hours of it anyway, searching Ebay, Froogle, Craigslist, Target, Walmart, Best Buy and Circuit City trying to find the best deal on a laptop!
I know I need at least 80gb hard drive. And I know I need it to be able to do wireless as I will be using a router for home networking.
And that's about all I know. I've never had a laptop, only home desktops.
My confusion is seeing prices for some laptops with only 20 gb being more expensive than some that have 80gb and I can't figure out why the difference in prices? Why sometimes it seems like laptops with better features are cheaper than others? I feel like I'm missing something here.
I'm hoping someone might explain the process on how to pick a laptop, maybe point me to a good one I could buy online safely, and last tell me if I'm out of my mind to think I can get one for 400$ or less. The cheapest I've found so far is 448$ at the Walmart website.

1g ram 1.8ghz processor im pretty sure. not sure what my video card is, some crappy integrated w/e, im updating that soon. i just bought my pc from dell. i dont know why but it randomly spazzes out and everything just becomes a mess, my task bar will be at the top of the screen, its just hard to explain, think of windows 95 without control alt delete...its that bad, anyone else getting this issue, its really annoying because i have to log out with control alt delete and log back in, and it comes at the most incovienent times like when im watching a movie.

When viewing pictures (Picassa or windows standard viewer) my pictures appear squished top to bottom. On the standard 20 inch monitor they appeared fine. I tried setting resolution to 1024 x 768, the monitor buttons dont seem to allow any adjusting there, but it is set to 1024 x 768, H: 48KHX V:60 Hz.
This widescreen monitor makes the pictures look compressed? How do I fix that?
