I now use Spybot Search and Destroy to take adware off my pc that I must run manually, but I pay $50 per year per pc. Are there any free downloads that can do this? My goal is to periodically clean my pc of junk software. I do have AVG Free virus protection that seems to work better than Norton, that I used to pay for.

when i try to install directx 9.0c i get an error that says setup could not download the file. please retry later, or check network connection. its been giving this to me for a week. my connection has been fine all week too. can anyone help me?

I want to record myself while playing the drums. Right now, I use logitech cam with one microphone connected to my laptop. How can I add more microphones with only having one plug on computer? Is there an adapter you could buy to input more than one mic?

Hello guys,

My question is about upgrading the memory of my new Gateway. The specs of my computer are:

Intel Core Duo Processor E4300
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
320 GB SATA II Hard Drive
1024 MB DDR2 (512x2)
I got 4 slot for memory

I will like to know if I buy 2, 1GB memory will I still be able to use the two 512 cards together that way I will make my computer 3GB?

I got 4 slots. My question was, would it matter if I used two 1gb and two 512 in the same MOBO by doing this it will take my computer to 3gb instead of 1gb. I want to know if it will post any problems to my system.

So Im thinking someone who works at a technology publication (ie: Cnet/ZDnet/PCmag etc) or somthing similar who is basically a lab person who runs the tests on new gadgets, tvs, phones, computers, gaming consoles

I am looking to buy a new laptop to replace my Toshiba P15. I will be using it for gaming, taking to high-school and taking notes, and doing homework. I have narrowed it down to the Toshiba x205-s9359 and the Asus G2S. If I get the Asus G2S, it will be from GenTech computer and will replace the hard drive with a Seagate 100GB 7200rpm S-ATA, adding 1gb of ram for a total of 3gb, and adding 1GB Intel Turbo Memory Card. The Toshiba I would be getting from the cheapest retailer. I am a proud supporter of Blu-Ray, so the HD-DVD drive in the Toshiba is nothing big, but I do like the TV Tuner, and the better video card with more VRAM. However, I really like the included backpack with the Asus. I would love to have any help I can get. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I am technology oriented around an 8.

it' is actually my room mates computer. it has 2 drives one for CDs and the other is a DVD (burner) drive...now both drives work just fine with CDs but they don't recognize DVDs at all.
if i put in a DVD...it shows either an empty folder or says that there is no disc in the drive.
is there a program i can install to make it work or what else can be the reason of the problem?

Every time i put a disc, wether it be dvd or cd in my combo disc drive on my pc, it will not recognise it / autorun it, it comes up with the emblem of a flashing cd by the curser but that is as far as it gets! any suggestions or advice on how to resolve the problem would be appreciated!

Hi i need help with this i have a Dell Dimension 3000... and for some reason i click the CD drive and nothing happens at all the CD drive is not in the Device Manager and it is not detected i do. my warranty ran out on Dell so i am not paying for 50 bucks worth of help if someone can help here..
