when i try to install directx 9.0c i get an error that says setup could not download the file. please retry later, or check network connection. its been giving this to me for a week. my connection has been fine all week too. can anyone help me?

Try these options below:
1. Try to wait for a while. Maybe the DirectX server is down.
2. Try to download DirectX 9.0c again. Maybe the installer was corrupted.
3. The DirectX 9.0c installer is being blocked by a firewall. Try to let the DirectX installer gain access to the Internet by adding an exeption to the firewall.
If none of these options resolves this, try these:
1. Install Windows XP SP2. It has DirectX 9.0c already included.
2. Get a game CD that uses DirectX. The game installer should already include DirectX.
Hope one of these options work.

Download a new copy from Microsoft's website and try again.
