Hello,
(ANS) The problem with Windows Vista is the same problem that ALL users are faced with when Microsoft release a new version of Windows. Its the old problem of drivers which are NOT upto date with the new version of the operating system, sadly this always happens and its an utter pain for everyone, its extremely annoying too.
**NOTE: Windows Vista was released to the public (retail) back in January 2007, and its quite normal to find that a new version (release) of windows has many un-found bugs & glitches. Normally I wait for the first service pack (vista service pack 1) before being even willing to look at a new version of windows. Some times it can take many months for Microsoft to iron out all the major problems via updates and service packs. I know this is little comfort to yourself though.
**Advise**
You should check with the maker of your printer's internet website for Vista Drivers for your specific machine. See:- the IBM site & Lexmark being the printers branded name, then the model number.
**You should try and find out (bit of detective work?) what version drivers you currently have that don't work, check the date of these current drivers and look to see if their are newer drivers.
**Also note: NOT ALL software is windows Vista compatible, there are online listings of most programs that are or aren't not yet vista compatible.
**In other words you need vista compatible drivers for your printer.
Vista will try and find drivers that make a good match with your printer but it maybe that the drivers its trying to use just wont do the job for you.
Hope that helps?
Kind Regards Ivan

it may be because its not vista compatable
what you have to do is change the programme to work in xp or go on the lexmark website they have a list of drivers updated for vista , just find the model you have and then install the new driver

Windows Vistas is rubbish.. I can't get alot of software to work on it. Thank goodness I kept my XP machines.
When I have time Im going to install XP on my new machines and removed Vista.
Maybe in 2 or 3 years time Vista will be ok.. but for the moment forget it.
And besides you can install many of the vista features onto XP. So you don't need vista at all.
Maybe you should install XP on your machine?

Vista will work with your Lexmark printer if you download the correct driver. (See the url below.)
Make sure you get the correct driver as there are both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Vista is user vicious. Big compatibility problems, so far I have able to find compatible drivers from the printer website. It takes some research.
