I have 4gigs of RAM, plus another 512meg on my video card. Vista can read 3.65gigs. I NEVER see RAM usage posted at over 50%. Wouldn't the unit run faster if it used more RAM and stayed away from the page file?

I would leave the page file settings alone on Vista, automatic is the best setting.

If you are having speed issues with 4gigs, I would chek it with IOBITS free optimizer program. http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html can check for a lot of issues, and optimize things as well. My fav program.

The biggest factor in a slow computer is usually always the hard drive (assuming you have enough ram). If you absolutely need the fastest possible computer you will need to convert to a SATA hard drive (I'm assuming you already have this). So in order to get any faster with this setup, you can create a RAID setup with those hard drives.

RAM is a big factor but vista just totally sucks for the time being its naturally slow, only recomended for reall fast compters just stick the XP pro or something.

RAM is only 1 factor in a computers speed. Your CPU's clock speed is also a BIG factor.
