I recv'd a file on my hotmail, that I've opened without any problem on another computer. I cannot open it on my computer at home. I have Windows XP, internet explorer 6.

-instead of (for example), "Vitamin Water"...can you go under the settings tab and change the name to "Vitamin W. " ?
-Will the facebook ppl allow that?
-will they send an email confirmation?

I am so confused. OK, here's the deal: I need a laptop for college (I'll be a freshman in the fall). I will basically only use it for writing papers and going on the internet. I don't want anything too big or heavy, because I plan on toting it around a lot. I want a mac, but would 5+ lbs be too heavy to lug around all the time? I don't know. One more thing: it can't have vista. Can anyone suggest a laptop that would work for me?

My PC was infected by a virus few days ago and all the anti-viruses weren't able to eliminate the problem, they find viruses and trojan horses and delete them , but each time I restart or scan again .. they appear again ... so I though to format the hard disk ... but when I boot from the Windows xp sp2 cd, it starts loading the different drivers and stuff .. but just before the setup window appears ( the one from which you choose to recover, format or partition ) I get this error message :
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK/F to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer"

I came across an old Toshiba Tecra laptop that still works, and I want to add it to my home network, but here's the deal.....its an old Windows 98 model and has no usb ports. I can use a network pcmcia card wireless card, but will win 98 work on my network which is XP, and is there any way to hook up a usb port, or is there some kind of usb adapters I could use??

Well i need ImageReady, and i have photoshop, i actually bought it at office depo for like a hundred bucks, omg tax was expensive, and i just found out that i need imageready to do something i wanted to do, well i bought elements 5.0 only one i could afford, and it doesnt have it, ive googled it, but its only the update to 1.0.1 anybody have any ideas of where i can download it, or buy it. If I install Vista I was thinking about splitting my harddrive, say 65gb each partition... then installing Vista on both. is this a good idea?
Should I just make one partition that's like 80% of the HDD space and then leave the rest unpartitioned (or should I partition it) just in case?
What's the best situation here

Vista allows you to install/activate it on two computers (well one, and then on another later if you upgrade or get a newone or something.. license transfer and whatnot)

If I install/activate it on two partitions will that just count as one computer?

I'm trying to find a good RSS reader, but I can't find any. I want one that will notify me, with a pop-up window or something, whenever it has found something new. I also don't want to have to manually tell it to look for updates, I want it to do that automatically. So basically, I want it to be constantly running in the background, and just notify me when something has been added to one of my feeds.

PS: I know about the RSS reader in Internet Explorer, but I use Firefox, so that RSS reader is useless to me.
