If I install Vista I was thinking about splitting my harddrive, say 65gb each partition... then installing Vista on both. is this a good idea?
Should I just make one partition that's like 80% of the HDD space and then leave the rest unpartitioned (or should I partition it) just in case?
What's the best situation here

Also if I make two partitions can they interact with each other? Share music files etc?

It might count as 2 installations of Vista. Although I'm not sure 65GB is enough space for Vista.

Partitions that can be read and written to by the operating system can be used. But it is best to have a separate partition for each OS, and then a separate data partition that both OS's use.

Hi there,

Nope, you can't install same operating system in both partition in same computer.

The most important thing is whatever Windows version used, or even using other operating system (Linux, Mac, etc), is suggested to create at least 2 partitions, because first partition will be for your operating system, and second or remaining partitions should be for your data files.

Just in case you have problem with your operating system, your could re-formatting the first partition without need to be afraid losing your data files.

Hope this information helpful,

Best Regards

Sure you can make two partitions( or more if you want), one would be for the operating system (primary), and the other could be for data (logical).. if you already have data on your hdd and don't want to lose it, well you can use partionmagic or paragon partion manager to create a new partition without having to format the hdd.
and don't worry about this, it just seems uneasy at first!

why in the hell could you like to place in win ninety 5 and win ninety 8.if it makes you sense particular i think then decide for it.yet those 2 systems have not been supported for years.they at the instant are not very defend anymore yet like i reported, your computing gadget.if i had that plenty confusing force area i would not mess with those clunkers.i think i fail to confirm how that could restore any 'compatibility subject concerns'.in case you like a great decision of working systems why do no longer you throw linux on there at the same time as your at it.ubuntu is greater constructive than win ninety 5 or ninety 8 for that remember.
