I know that Photoshop will do it, but I'm looking for an app that will create scalable graphics and fonts and will do most of what Acrobat will do.

www.docsmartz.com claims to have a PDF converter/creator for $39.99.

Frankly, if there were a program that worked as well as Acrobat for a more affordable price, I'd have it too. There is a reason why it is so pricey.

PDFCamp by a company called VeryPDF. Cheap and works like a printer.

You can use OpenOffice.org or the Mac version of Microsoft Word.
