I came across an old Toshiba Tecra laptop that still works, and I want to add it to my home network, but here's the deal.....its an old Windows 98 model and has no usb ports. I can use a network pcmcia card wireless card, but will win 98 work on my network which is XP, and is there any way to hook up a usb port, or is there some kind of usb adapters I could use??

Hi. You can purchase a USB port card and install it, but Win98 does not support USB 2.0, so you will be stuck with a slower speed. The card I have cost more to ship than the the price of the card.

Yes, No Problem. Make a Floppy off an Xp machine that gives password to Modem of ISP or Administor of Routing.
This will give you XP VPN virtual private networking; Also routing Dhcp numbers and it will adjust Automatically with all changes. You can also use the xp CD {other Task). Win 2000 is the only snare; It must be handled manually. This is for Ethernet workgrouping. Usb networking will drain your processing structure in most 98 installs. Unless a Virtual machine is used in your programs handling your routing.
