I recently gave my sister a dell dimension desktop with windows XP and she would like to transfer files from her old computer also a dell dimension but with windows ME

The simplest, less tech savy, and probably the cheapest way would be to burn the data onto a disc. You do have other options though. Another way would be to setup a network between the two computers. Make the folders you want to copy shareable on the network. Another way would be to purchase a mobile hard drive, such as a flash drive.

Many programs will not transfer from computer to computer, they must installed to each system.

i grow to be going to inform you to apply domicile windows consumer documents migration gadget to do it...yet then i found out your leaping previous vista....I dont think of which you would be able to migrate consumer documents from XP to 7, purely from Vista to 7.
