I am so confused. OK, here's the deal: I need a laptop for college (I'll be a freshman in the fall). I will basically only use it for writing papers and going on the internet. I don't want anything too big or heavy, because I plan on toting it around a lot. I want a mac, but would 5+ lbs be too heavy to lug around all the time? I don't know. One more thing: it can't have vista. Can anyone suggest a laptop that would work for me?

Dell and HP have good deals all the time on small laptops that are perfect for taking to class. Staying with a name brand is your best router as they will give the most consistent customer service.

If you want a Mac, I'd suggest a Macbook. The smallest one you can get is really fast and good value.
