i built a new gaming pc i have a P4 3.01ghz processor 512mb of ram 120gb hard drive a asylum insane 3D graphics card 256mb made by Nvidia GeForce its a great card but why cant i play all my games some games cut me off when the start up some just wont play and others completly cut the pc of a reboots it whats wrong what can i do to fix it please thanks

Okay, need a little more info on this. What games are you trying to play? 512 megs of ram is the recommended amount of ram to run windows. That does not leave a lot of ram to run the games. In addition, if you are running microsoft Vista, there are known issues with some older software. Also, you need to see what programs are running in the background. Applications such as antivirus, anti-spyware, and other utilities require ram too. Spyware, adware, and viruses can also cause unexpected shutdowns. A bad stick of ram, or a failing hard drive can cause shutdowns as well, so as you can see, it could be a myriad of problems causing your gaming woes. My advice is add another 512 megs of ram, update your vid drivers, and check for malware. Hope this helps.
