My laptop has built-in mobile technology. I have wireless at home, but, want to have a service that goes anywhere with me.

I have a linksys firmware 2. My internet keeps on disappearing every 3 or so minutes. The cause maybe that the labtop network my pc is picking up is trying to connect to that network than my own.

In my office, I have a modem linked to a wireless router and usually connect to the internet through that on my laptop. The connection suddenly died though I haven't changed anything, but get perfectly good connection when I link my laptop to the modem via ethernet.

Now, something is obviously wrong with the router, but I don't know how to change its settings. Any proposed solution is welcome. Also, if I need to replace the router will any one do or are modems compatible with only a certain model?

Hi,
I have never been able to upload more than 45 kB/s in a torrent. I have Comcast internet and use BitTornado with Windows XP. I have the F-Secure Internet Anti-Virus/Firewall suite. Torrent sites show me as being connectable and not blocked behind a firewall. I would really like to be able to upload more and increase my share ratios. I can get download speeds of more than 300 kB/s at times, but my upload speeds never get better. Is there anything I can do?

I realize that from computer to computer you need a crossover cable and that from router to computer you need a crossover cable. So i know in my dorm room i have a ethernet jack coming from the wall. If i want to connect a router do i have to connect a crossover cable or can i just use a normal ethernet cable to hook up the router. The reason i would like to do this is for wireless internet in my room. thanks

I am thinking about buying a MacBook around September 10 in order to take advantage of their college student discount deadlined at Sep. 16.

With the release of the Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard" in October, less than a month from my purchase, I am contemplating waiting to buy it during the release or save around $200+ by purchasing it in September.

Can someone please explain to me if Apple provides a free upgrade from their operating systems? I have heard some people say "the only way to get a free upgrade for Leopard would be to purchase a new Mac within 6 months of it's release" and "unless you purchased Tiger within the last 90 days."

Can someone please clear this up for me and tell me how Apple handles their OS upgrades if I would purchase my MacBook less than than a month from the release of the Leopard?

I have an old Win 98 computer that I wiped out and installed Win XP from the disk of my new computer. Everything works except I need to register the product id. Because the software belongs to my newer computer, I can't register that number.

Will Win XP 'upgrade' software work? Or do I need to buy the entire version?
