Hi,
I have never been able to upload more than 45 kB/s in a torrent. I have Comcast internet and use BitTornado with Windows XP. I have the F-Secure Internet Anti-Virus/Firewall suite. Torrent sites show me as being connectable and not blocked behind a firewall. I would really like to be able to upload more and increase my share ratios. I can get download speeds of more than 300 kB/s at times, but my upload speeds never get better. Is there anything I can do?

The upload and download speeds are defined in your subscription agreement with your ISP.

ComCast and almost all CATV providers deliver assymetric internet speeds with the download substantiall faster than the upload. Your 45 KB/sec (or 360 Kbps) is close to a commonly quoted rate of 384 Kbps for upload.

There is nothing you can do but change your subscription agreement with your ISP, providing they have another product offering. Of course, as you subscribe to a faster speed you will pay more.
