I'm in the US looking to buy a computer. I can spend up to $800, but I'd prefer to go a bit cheaper. I'd like for it to be a desktop PC that will run The Sims 2 and all of its expansion packs very well. Here are the system requirements for The Sims 2:

Would this computer be a bad choice?

The specs are fine for the processor and RAM, but the graphics card is not ideal. You need a 256MB or 512MB or better graphics card. that is if you want smooth play and no hiccups during game play.

I have the game and even with Seasons, my laptop hiccups because of the season changes.

Dell....via a great way. Sony has large laptops, so does Toshiba, yet while it comprises desktops with the exception of an incredible gaming rig like Alienware...i could follow a Dell. i substitute into an NT admin who ran a helpdesk for a employer with 2600 Dell desktops. Out of the 5 years I ran the helpdesk we had possibly a dozen or much less desktops that had to have hardware replaced. Now in case you have faith approximately that approximately 3/4 of them have been left on day and nighttime, then i could say it particularly is a incredibly good music checklist. additionally, now-a-days, you are able to no longer beat the charges of them the two. attempt to stay removed from Celeron or Sempron processors however, it is like getting a 4 cyclinder motor in a Cadilac. valuable in case you have some pc skills you are able to overclock them, yet once you're searching for some cost to your dollar it is going to pass lots greater with a Duo center or some thing comparable. good success, Joe
